Elton John and Leon Russell will be embarking on a U.S. tour in support of 'The Union', the duo's collaborative album to be released October 19th in the U.S. on Decca (October 25th in the U.K. on Mercury Records.). The concerts will feature Elton John and Leon Russell performing a night full of their hits, including selections from 'The Union'. The album marks the first time these iconic artists have worked together since 1970.

Produced by Oscar and multiple-Grammy winning producer T Bone Burnett, 'The Union' was recorded live in the studio with Elton and Leon on dueling pianos. The 14-track disc includes selections written by Elton and his lifelong lyricist Bernie Taupin, as well as the combined incomparable songwriting team consisting of Leon, Elton, Bernie and T Bone covering a variety of musical genres-from R&B, soul, gospel, country, pop and rock.

Elton John and Leon Russell will also be part of T Bone Burnett's upcoming The Speaking Clock Revue. Madonna Celebration DVD Review

The Madonna DVD "Celebration" is in stores now and available from on-line resellers. The two disc DVD features over 40 classic Madonna videos. Long time Madonna fans will notice that some videos are missing. Not here are music videos for "Everybody," "Dress You Up," "Bad Girl," "Nothing Really Matters," and "You Must Love Me." Now what fans can enjoy are two discs filled with restored classic Madonna music videos.

Disc #1 opens with the music video "Burning Up." This 1983 video introduced Madonna to the masses as it was played on MTV. Other classic music videos featured on the first DVD are "Like a Virgin," "Material Girl," "Papa Don't Preach," and "Like a Prayer" among others. Disc two should please fans as well as it features the music videos for "Secret," which was the first single released from the 1995 Madonna album "Bedtime Stories." Other modern classics featured on the second disc are "Frozen," "Ray of Light," "Die Another Day," and "Music," among others. The second disc features the majority of the post 2000 Madonna music videos all the way up to the video for "Celebration."

The Madonna DVD "Celebration" is in stores now.

A Nightmare On Elm Street Film Review

The movie "A Nightmare On Elm Street" a 2010 release by New Line Cinema is a great film. Fans of the horror franchise will love this film. It brings back Freddy Krueger and the world of Freddy to fans all over the world--not to mention the film brings Freddy back for a new breed of young people who just don't remember Freddy so well. The "Nightmare On Elm Street," film series got started back in 1984 with the original film "A Nightmare on Elm Street," which featured actor Johnny Depp and actress Heather Langencamp. The orignal series of films went on to make it to more than 6 films in the series with titles such as "A Nightmare on Elm Street-The Dream Warrior," "A Nightmare on Elm Street-Dream Child," and the cool movie "Freddy's Dead." The best thing was that in 2003 the movie "Freddy vs. Jason" was released, this film united Freddy Krueger and Jason Voorhies. The best thing is that the new film is high paced and very exciting. It is really scary. The cast are relatively fresh faced unknowns but that doesn't mean that audiences won't want to watch them fight for their lives every second of the film. The movie is so exciting and fans of "A Nightmare on Elm Street' should be pleased--however, the "new Freddy," looks different, moves different and truly sounds different than he used to at one time. Freddy looks different but it doesn't take too much away from the film as he is still wearing his trademark red and green sweater and yes--yes fans he still has his glove with the sharp knives. The film was produced by Michael Bay. "A Nightmare On Elm Street" hits theaters on April 30th.

ANITA BAKER HEADLINES JazzFest, RETURNS TO THE STUDIO IN NASHVILLE

Anita Baker will be a headliner at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival on April 25th, and has just started work on a new album in Nashville, planned for release by Blue Note Records later in 2010.

"I'm going to Nashville to mix it up, shake it and see what comes out" says the eight-time Grammy winner with obvious glee.

Baker will be producing the album with George Duke, Nathan East and Daniel Moore, recording in Nashville in part because, she explains, "they still know how to make a record in analog." Baker has some long time friends in Nashville - just last month, when she performed at the TJ Martell Honors Gala there, attendees were surprised to find out that she counts many country stars and personalities among them.

Singing Vince Gill's "Little Liza Jane" at the dinner, Baker was backed by a cohort of Nashville players. Inspired by their performance, she's invited the "badass Nashville cats," as she terms them, to record with her this month alongside NYC and LA session musicians.

The album will also include Baker's collaboration with Snoop Dogg on a "big, lush" version of Curtis Mayfield's "Give You My Love" that she promises "is going to raise eyebrows." The rest of the album will be original material.

Baker is enthusiastic about the upcoming sessions. "I'm turning it up in a lot of ways," she says

Over 75,000 fans enjoyed her 2009 headlining performances at the Essence Festival (New Orleans), Macy's Music Cincinnati and Mt. Diablo Festival in San Francisco, and now they will have the chance to see Anita Baker mix it up live at 5:25 p.m. on Sunday April 25th on JazzFest's Congo Square "My Louisiana" Stage. And what will Ms. Baker play at Jazzfest? "As always, the audience is in charge of the set list, kind of like being at a Grateful Dead show" the star says with a laugh.

The world's most unpredictable and entertaining experimental rock band, THE FLAMING LIPS, are gearing up for a busy fall. First up, the band will appear on Comedy Central's The Colbert Report on September 16th, which airs that night at 11:30 p.m. ET. Check local listings for details.

The LIPS' brand-new double-album, EMBRYONIC will be available online in its entirety for a limited-time only at http://www.colbertnation.com immediately after Wednesday night's show through Monday, September 21. This will be the first complete airing of the album in advance of release and the first time The Colbert Report has presented any album by an artist.

THE LIPS are appearing on Colbert to spread the word about EMBRYONIC, which will be released by Warner Bros. Records on October 13th. This marks their first full studio set in three years following their Grammy Award-winning AT WAR WITH THE MYSTICS. EMBRYONIC, THE LIPS' 12th album, was recorded in Fredonia, NY, and Oklahoma City, OK, with studio whiz and general co-conspirator Dave Fridmann and just may be their most sonically adventurous and compositionally vernal form of musical expression ever. In honor of the October 13th release date, THE LIPS will perform on The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien that night.

EMBRYONIC will be released in multiple configurations: a standard CD, featuring 18 tracks, and a deluxe package that includes two CD's (18 tracks plus a bonus audio DVD of the full album) and a custom hardcover book featuring 24 pages of full-color art, lyrics, and band photos. This deluxe package is a limited-edition run and has been custom-designed by THE FLAMING LIPS. The album will also be released on vinyl with a single gatefold jacket that includes two colored LP's (one blue and one yellow). A CD version of the album will be included with the vinyl package.

THE LIPS will also release EMBRYONIC in two Direct to Consumer packages available only via the band's online store at http://www.flaminglips.com. The deluxe DTC package, which will be sold as a digipack inside of a custom "fur" box, includes two CDs, plus a bonus 96k 24bit-super resolution audio DVD (256 times higher resolution rate than standard CD audio), and an exclusive album artwork lithograph. A very limited number of these prints will be autographed by the band.

A super MEGA Deluxe vinyl edition will also be made available in very limited quantities this coming winter 2009. A detailed explanation will be forthcoming. Keep and eye on the LIPS website for info.

Plans for New Years Eve?? Once again, THE FLAMING LIPS have confirmed that they will indeed play their hometown of Oklahoma City on New Year's Eve, December 31, 2009, at the Cox Center. Tickets for the show will go on sale Saturday September 19th. Ticket prices range from $10, $20, and $25 (plus venue/transaction fees). If all that weren't enough, THE LIPS will once again host their annual "March of 1,000 Flaming Skeletons" Halloween Parade in Oklahoma City, now in its third year. This year's festivities take place on October 24th in downtown Oklahoma City's Bricktown district; just a stone's throw away from FLAMING LIPS ALLEY.

Last year's second annual Ghouls Gone Wild event was a huge success that drew LIPS fans from around the globe. Naturally, this year's Supernatural procession will be even more incendiary as festive floats, (in)appropriately adorned cars, walking groups, and 1,000 strong undead snake through the streets of Oklahoma City.

Mr. Belvedere Seasons 1 & 2 DVD Review

Shout Factory has released "Mr. Belvedere Season's One and Two" on DVD. "Mr. Belvedere" was a family friendly sitcom that premiered on ABC in the month of March 1985. The show quickly became a favorite of television viewers. Christopher Hewett, a British actor, starred on the sitcom as friendly, boisterous butler Mr. Belvedere. Mr. Belvedere was hired by the Owens family in the shows first episode. The premise of the series revolves around the butler living in the home and helping to raise the children of George and Marsha Owens. Child actor Brice Beckham starred in the series as witty Wesley Owens. Wesley and Mr. Belvedere had great candor and shared many laughs. Wesley was quite a scene stealer. The show featured two teenage actors that starred on the series as Heather and Kevin.

The best way to describe "Mr. Belvedere" is as a family friendly sitcom with a family addition that helped to raise the family. Mr. Belvedere shared in the child raising with George and Marsha Owens. There wasn't a great deal of jealously when it came to parenting type of scenarios. The household children listened to Mr. Belvedere and welcomed his advice and opinions.

The episodes are memorable. "Mr Belvedere" didn't spend a great deal of time in syndication. Many of these episodes haven't been seen in years. Memorable episodes include the episodes "Sweet Charity," in which Heather and Wesley bring home a homeless woman, "Requiem," where Wesley becomes conflicted after the death of his accordian teacher, "Wesley's Friend," in which Wesley's friend is diagnosed with AIDS, and the episode "Amish," in which the oldest teenage son Kevin starts dating an Amish girl and changes his lifestyle. The good thing about the episode "Wesley's Friend" is that it introduced AIDS to the family viewing audience. This episode was one of the first family sitcom episodes to introduce AIDS to the viewing audience.

"Mr. Belvedere Seasons 1 & 2" on DVD is a five disc collection that features 29 episodes. The air dates for the episodes on the disc range from March 15th, 1985 to March 28th 1986. Bonus features on the fifth disc include a featurette titled "The Owens Family Remembers." This feature includes brand new interview footage with cast members Bob Uecker, Ilene Graff, Brice Beckham and Rob Stone. It's really cool to see child actor Brice Beckham all grown up. The other cast members look great. It's nice that Shout Factory went through the effort of reuniting cast members for this interview. In addition to the feature with interviews, the DVD set includes a Saturday Night Live sketch titled "Mr. Belvedere Fan Club." It's pretty cool that the rights owners of Saturday Night Live allowed this content to be included in the DVD box set. Fans of "Mr. Belvedere" the series should be pleased that Shout Factory went through the effort to include bonus material. "Mr. Belvedere" Seasons 1 & 2 on DVD is a great purchase and fans of the show will be pleased to finally own this favorite on DVD.

(Houston, TX) Compadre Records/Music World Music has announced the release of JOHNNY CASH REMIXED, featuring bold new interpretations of Johnny Cash classics from top music remixers and producers who were recruited to take the original master recordings and infuse them with the sounds and technology of modern music styles such as hip hop and dance music. The album, which includes a performance from Snoop Dogg, will be available in stores and online on January 27. A vinyl deluxe-edition will be available on September 23 in select independent record stores.

Johnny Cash Remixed is a tribute to the legacy of an American music icon whose work has touched every contemporary genre, and has the blessing and support of the custodians of Johnny Cash's legacy.

"My father made his stead by defying the expected and accepted way of things" says John Carter Cash son of Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash and Executive Producer of the Academy Award(c)-winning film, Walk the Line. "He set the standard at the same time. He would have loved this remix record. While it stays true to the original recordings, this CD touches on undiscovered ground. This is what my father was about: staying true to tradition while creating groundbreaking new music."

Johnny Cash classics were licensed from Cash's first record label, the legendary Sun Records, also the first record label home of luminaries such as Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis and Roy Orbison. The original tracks, recorded with Cash's first band the Tennessee Two from 1956-1959, were pure and stark, with only the essentials; guitar, light percussion and Johnny Cash's unmistakable voice and presence. The new mixes maintain this fantastic charm and personality while filing out the sound and creating daring re-interpretations.

The remixed tracks (and remixers) include "I Walkte The Line" featuring Snoop Dogg (QDT, the new production team led by Snoop Dogg - featuring Snoop, Teddy Riley and DJ Quik), "Country Boy" (Sonny J, whose album was released in August on Astralwerks US), "Get Rhythm" (Philip Steir, the only remixer allowed to work with the Reprise Records Frank Sinatra collection), "Leave that Junk Alone" (Alabama 3, creators of The Sopranos theme song), "Folsom Prison Blues" (the legendary Pete Rock), "Hey Porter" (Mocean Worker, whose remix of Elvis Presley's "Burnin' Love" was used as a soundtrack to Honda's Superbowl TV commercial), "Sugartime" (Kennedy, cornerstone of the new UK Dirty Pop movement), "Trail To Mexico" (indie favorite Mexican Institute of Sound/MIS), "Doin' My Time" (The Heavy, critically-acclaimed UK-based band) and "Wide Open Road" (Count de Money) among others.

A documentary following the making will be included with the album, and was produced by Phear Creative in NYC. This short film features interviews from select remixers, filmed in their home studios, including Snoop Dogg captured at the Cash Recording Cabin in Hendersonville, Tennessee.

The New Kids on the Block were one of the biggest boy bands of all time. The group hit their peak during the late 1980’s and the early 1990’s. The group disbanded in the early 90’s. Fans of the group were pleased when the group reconvened with the original line up in 2008 and hit the road touring. Not only is the group touring again, they have completed a brand new studio album titled “The Block.” The new album features all new material and the brand new single “Summertime.”

To promote the new tour and the new album, Sony Legacy Recordings has released the brand new album “New Kids on the Block Greatest Hits.” The 18 song disc features the groups most well known songs.

Popular up-tempo singles “Step by Step,” “You Got It (The Right Stuff),” and “Hangin’ Tough” are all here. Classic ballads “I’ll Be Loving You Forever,” “Valentine Girl,” and “Please Don’t Go Girl,” are all here. The biggest New Kids on the Block hits are here. The set is not without the songs “Tonight,” “Games,” and “Cover Girl.” The songs “Dirty Dawg” and “This One’s For The Children,” are not featured on this greatest hits compilation.

Included on the set are several solo songs. The song “The Right Combination,” by Seiko featuring Donnie Wahlberg is featured on this compilation as well as “Angel of Love,” the song by Ana with Jordan Knight. Joey McIntyre’s solo song “Stay The Same” is featured on the disc. The B52’s are back with their first studio release in over a decade. “Funplex” is a good time album that fans of the foursome will especially appreciate. The song “Pump” is a up-tempo song with a really good sound. The group really hasn’t lost any of the style that they captured in the 80’s. The group experiments with a lot of different sounds on “Funplex.” Songs like “Juliet of Spirits” and “Love in the Year 3000,” are really laid back cool songs, not really fast paced dance songs. Fans of B52’s songs such as “Roam” and “Song for a Future Generation,” will appreciate these songs. Cindy and Kate harmonize nicely on the song “Juliet of Spirits.” “Funplex” is the kind of song that fans of The B52’s will relate too. It’s a signature B52’s song. It’s fun, happy and friendly. “Deviant Ingredient” is a laid back mellow song. Overall, “Funplex” is a fun, happy return to the music of The B52’s. Fans of the group will be pleased.

Madonna has released her latest CD “Hard Candy.” The twelve track CD is her best release to date. The album is comprised primarily of up-tempo and dance tracks. The tracks are more melodic, urban and dance floor quality rather than techno. The album’s first single was the huge single “4 Minutes,” featuring Justin Timberlake and Timbaland. “Hard Candy” is a very modern Madonna album. Fans of current pop artists will relate to the album. Fans who enjoy Madonna classic’s such as “Holiday,” “Music,” and “Into the Groove,” will enjoy the updated yet familiar sound of “Hard Candy.”

“Candy Shop” is a cool mid-tempo track produced by Pharrell Williams. Pharrell actually produces a handful of songs on the album. “Give It To Me,” is a fast paced urban pop synth inspired song with a futuristic edge. “Heartbeat” is a funky track with a nice melodic chorus. “Miles Away” is a laid back song that fits nicely on the album. “She’s Not Me” is a sassy song that stands out on the album. It’s the perfect get back at the wrong guy song. “Incredible” is one of the best songs on the album. One thing that is instantly noticeable on “Hard Candy” is the fact that the album blends together very continuously. “Beat Goes On,” is a funky club friendly track. “Dance 2Night” is another equally funky urban flavored track. “Spanish Lesson” is a fast paced salsa inspired track. “Devil Wouldn’t Recognize You,” is a very memorable song for Madonna. It’s a really great song. The album closes with the song “Voices,” which is another funky track.

Music fans will appreciate the appearances on “Hard Candy” by producer’s Pharrell Williams, Justin Timberlake, Kanye West and Timbaland.

“Hard Candy” is Madonna’s best album in many years. It’s a great collection of songs that are great for the summer and the club. There isn’t one ballad in the bunch. The album features production by Pharrell Williams, Timbaland, Danja and Kanye West.

classic 1981 Delorean this week as Universal Studios Hollywood turned the
final page on its farewell to the legendary "Back to the Future-The Ride"
attraction.

Gary Kufchak of Wadsworth, Ohio was chosen at random from
contestants who had registered online or during personal visits to Universal
Studios Hollywood, The Entertainment Capital of L.A.

After thrilling over 61 million visitors with wild rides across
"the space-time continuum," Universal Studios Hollywood officially closed
the ground-breaking "Back to the Future-The Ride" attraction on Labor Day,
September 3, 2007. The event drew significant media attention nationwide
and visits from fans from across the U.S.

Gary Kufchak, a car aficionado who currently owns three
vehicles, will now add a fourth to his collection -- a 1981 steel grey
DeLorean - the inspiration for Doc Brown's flux capacitor-equipped time
machines portrayed film franchise and popular theme park ride.

A signature attraction at "The Entertainment Capital of L.A."
for over 14 years, "Back to the Future-The Ride," was closed to make way for

BURBANK, CA (October 15, 2007) - Warner Home Video today announced the
launch of its “Inspiring the Future” online contest in honor of the
release of Sir Ridley Scott’s “definitive” Blade Runner: The Final Cut
on December 18th, 2007.

Blade Runner, starring Harrison Ford, is among one of the most popular
and powerful films of the 20th Century, making it a sci-fi masterpiece.
The film has had immeasurable influence on society for its futuristic
depiction of a post-apocalyptic, dystopian world. Blade Runner has
appeared on more ‘Top Five’ sci-fi lists than any other film.

The “Inspiring the Future” online contest will highlight the influence
that Blade Runner has had on both leading and amateur filmmakers,
musicians, writers, designers and artists. From September 21st through
November 4th, fans will be able to upload and vote on “Blade Runner”
inspired works in one of the following categories: literature, music,
film, art or fashion. Artists can promote their inspired works using
share tools, including send to a friend e-mails and branded banners.

From November 5th through December 14th, fans can vote on their favorite
entries to help determine who will win 5 grand prizes of $1,000 home
entertainment system across the different categories. Instant win
prizes such as framed Blade Runner movie posters and DVDs will also be
rewarded for viewing and voting.

In celebration of its 25th anniversary, director Ridley Scott (Alien,
Hannibal and a three-time Oscar(r) nominee, Best Director, for
Gladiator, Thelma & Louise and Black Hawk Down) has gone back into post
production to create the long-awaited definitive new version, which
Warner Home Video will unveil on DVD December 18th in the U.S. Blade
Runner: The Final Cut, spectacularly restored and remastered from
original elements and scanned at 4K resolution, will contain
never-before-seen added/extended scenes, added lines, new and improved
special effects, director and filmmaker commentary, an all-new 5.1
Dolby(r) Digital audio track and more.

A showcase theatrical run is also being planned for New York and Los
Angeles October 5.

Blade Runner: The Final Cut will be included in three stunning DVD
editions: a Two-Disc Special Edition (at $20.97 SRP), a Four-disc
Collector’s Edition ($34.99 SRP) and the Five-Disc Ultimate Collector’s

Los Angeles, CA – One of the most successful female groups of all time, the Bangles make a triumphant return to their hometown of Los Angeles with their first-ever concert DVD, available August 14 on Shout! Factory.

Return To Bangleonia was recorded in September 2000 at the House of Blues on the Sunset Strip in Los Angeles with the original lineup of Susanna Hoffs (Vocals/Guitar), Debbi Peterson (Vocals/Drums), Vicki Peterson (Vocals/Lead Guitar), and Michael Steele (Vocals/Bass). The DVD includes 18 songs as well as extras and a commentary track by the band.

The queens of power pop pull out all of their hits on Return To Bangleonia, from number one singles “Walk Like An Egyptian” and “Eternal Flame” to early fan favorites like “Hero Takes A Fall.” “Get The Girl,” from the film Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me is also included. Extras include acoustic performances of “Ride The Ride” and “Manic Monday,” which was written by Prince (writing under the pseudonym Christopher at the time), as well as a candid interview with the band about their storied history and a photo gallery with rare and never-before-seen photos.

The Bangles first hit the radar as a fixture on the LA music scene in 1981. They went on to trade their garage band roots for a distinctive pop sound featuring gorgeous harmonies that would make them one of the most successful bands of the 1980s.

The Bangles released their debut album All Over The Place on Columbia in 1984. The band’s sophomore album, the multi-platinum A Different Light (1986), contained the hit singles "Manic Monday", "Walk Like an Egyptian" and "Walking Down Your Street." 1988's Everything delivered the hits "In Your Room" and "Be With You," and the international #1 single "Eternal Flame." The band broke up in 1989 and each of the band members went on to participate in various other projects, which only contributed to their creative growth. In 2003 they reunited and released Doll Revolution. Shout! Factory released the Susanna Hoffs and Matthew Sweet ‘60s salute Under the Covers Vol. 1 in 2006.
